Summary

  • A booking is confirmed once you accept our written confirmation and pay the 30% deposit.
  • You can cancel or reschedule free of charge up to 3 days before the session; after that we charge 50% of the booked amount.
  • Mixing and mastering include 2 revision rounds; we keep your raw session files for 6 months.
  • Once everything is paid, the rights in your recordings are yours; we use nothing without your permission.
  • Dutch law applies. As a consumer you always keep your statutory rights.

01 Who we are and what these terms cover

These terms and conditions apply to all offers, bookings and agreements of:

  • Vedrodev B.V., trading as Vedrodev
  • Overtoom 293, 1054 HW Amsterdam, the Netherlands
  • Chamber of Commerce (KvK) 85771006, VAT number NL824321960B01
  • Phone 020 846 3172, email [email protected]

They cover every service we provide: Vocal and instrument recording, Live band recording, Podcast recording, Voice-over and voice work, Mixing and Mastering. Anything agreed differently in a confirmation or quote takes precedence. A business client's own terms only apply if we have accepted them in writing. All services are listed on the services page. The Dutch version of these terms is legally binding; this English text is a translation for your information.

02 Definitions

Terms used in these conditions
TermMeaning
ClientAny person or organisation that books with us or accepts a quote.
ConsumerAn individual acting outside a trade, business or profession, such as a musician privately recording a demo.
Business clientA client acting for their trade or business, for example a label, production house, agency or self-employed artist with a company.
SessionA booked block of studio time, per hour, half day (4 hours) or day (8 hours), engineer included.
Post-productionMixing, mastering and editing of material you supply or that we recorded.
Revision roundOne combined list of requested changes to a delivered version.

03 Requests, confirmation and formation of the agreement

A request through the contact page, by email or by phone does not commit you to anything. Within 2 working days we reply with availability and a quote or confirmation stating the service, date and time or delivery period, the price including VAT and the deposit amount.

The agreement is formed when you accept the confirmation in writing (a reply by email is enough) and we have received the deposit. Until then we do not hold the slot for you. A quote is valid for 14 days unless it states otherwise. Obvious mistakes or typing errors in a quote do not bind us.

04 Prices and VAT

All prices are in euros and include 21% VAT. For business clients the invoice also shows the amount excluding VAT. Current rates:

Vedrodev rates
ServiceRatePrice incl. VAT
Vocal and instrument recordingper hour / half day / day€85 / €310 / €580
Live band recordingper half day / day€420 / €760
Podcast recordingper episode up to 90 minutes / per extra hour€145 / €75
Voice-over and voice workper hour / per spot up to 60 seconds€110 / €195
Mixingper track / per EP of up to 5 tracks€290 / €1,150
Masteringper track / per album of up to 12 tracks€70 / €540

A session includes use of the room, the microphones and the engineer. If a session runs over by agreement, the extra time is charged pro rata at the applicable rate; we never extend without your consent. Price changes do not affect bookings that are already confirmed.

05 Deposit and payment

When you accept the confirmation, you pay a deposit of 30% of the total. Consumers pay the balance at the end of the session at the latest or, for post-production, before we deliver the final files. Business clients receive an invoice payable within 14 days.

If a payment is late, we first send a free reminder. Consumers get at least 14 days in that reminder; only after that can statutory interest and extrajudicial collection costs under the statutory scale be charged. For business clients, statutory commercial interest applies from the due date. While an invoice remains unpaid, we may hold back delivery of the final files.

06 Cancelling and rescheduling

Plans change, so the rules are simple:

  • If you cancel or reschedule at least 3 days before the session, there is no charge. We refund the deposit or move it to a new date.
  • If you cancel later, or do not show up, 50% of the booked amount is due. The deposit is set off against it.
  • If you arrive late, the session still ends at the agreed time when the studio is booked afterwards.

If we have to cancel a session, for example because the engineer is ill or equipment fails, we offer a new date or refund everything you have paid within 14 days. Please cancel by email to [email protected] so the time is on record. Your statutory right of withdrawal under article 7 takes precedence over these rules.

07 Right of withdrawal for consumers

If you are a consumer and conclude the agreement at a distance, meaning by email, phone or the website without meeting us at the studio, Dutch law gives you a 14-day cooling-off period starting on the day the agreement is formed. You can withdraw with a clear statement by email to [email protected], without giving a reason. We then refund what you paid within 14 days, using the same payment method.

If you want a session or post-production to start within those 14 days, we ask you to request this explicitly. If you withdraw afterwards, you pay an amount proportionate to what we have already delivered. If the service has been fully performed within the cooling-off period and you confirmed beforehand that you would lose your right of withdrawal, the right lapses. Agreements concluded in person at the studio, and business agreements, are not covered by the right of withdrawal.

08 At the studio

The studio on Overtoom 293 has 3 rooms: a 48 m² live room, a 26 m² control room and a 9 m² booth. The live room takes bands of up to 6 musicians, and podcasts have seats for 4 speakers. For larger line-ups we make separate arrangements in advance.

  • The minimum age is 16. Younger musicians are welcome with a parent or guardian, who also accepts the booking.
  • Please treat the rooms and equipment with care. We may charge you for damage caused intentionally or through carelessness; your own instruments remain your responsibility.
  • Smoking, drugs and drunkenness are not allowed. The engineer may stop a session if safety or equipment is at risk, in which case the booked amount remains due.

Getting here: Tram 1 stops close to the studio on the Overtoom (Jan Pieter Heijestraat stop). From Leidseplein it is about a 20-minute walk along the Vondelpark. You can park bikes outside the door; car parking in Oud-West is paid and limited. For tips on preparing, read the guide preparing a vocal session.

09 Mixing, mastering and delivery

If you supply your own tracks for mixing or mastering, please follow the specifications in our guide delivering tracks for mixing. You confirm that you are entitled to have us work on the material.

We deliver a first version within 7 working days of receiving the complete material and the deposit, unless we agree on a different schedule. Mixing and mastering include 2 revision rounds. Extra rounds, or changes that amount to a new approach, are charged after a quote. Delivery dates are targets: if we run late we tell you straight away, and after a reasonable extra period you may terminate the agreement at no cost.

Musical taste is personal. We work to the references and directions you give, but we cannot promise a particular artistic or commercial outcome, such as a playlist placement.

10 Files and archive

After payment we deliver the agreed files through a download link. We keep your raw session files and projects for 6 months after the last session or delivery, so you can request them or use them for a revision. After that we delete them, so keep your own backup of anything you want to hold on to. If you would like us to delete your files sooner, just let us know.

11 Copyright and neighbouring rights

The music, lyrics and performances remain yours and those of the creators and performers involved. Once everything is paid, the rights in the recordings we make on your instructions, including the rights of the phonogram producer, belong to you or to the party you name as the commissioning client. Where needed, we assign those rights to you for that purpose.

You are responsible for obtaining permission from musicians, speakers and the rights holders of any covers or samples you use. We only post excerpts of your work on our site or social media with your prior written consent. A credit for our engineers is appreciated but not required.

12 Liability

We work carefully and make interim backups during sessions. If damage nonetheless results from a failure on our part, our liability towards business clients is limited to the invoice amount of the assignment concerned, and we are not liable to them for indirect loss such as lost income or a delayed release.

These limits do not apply in the case of intent or deliberate recklessness by us or our management, nor to personal injury. Towards consumers we do not limit our liability beyond what the law allows. For instruments and belongings you bring yourself, we are only liable if the damage is our fault.

13 Force majeure

If either of us cannot keep an appointment because of circumstances beyond our control, such as a local power cut, government measures or an emergency in the building, we first look for a new date together. If that is not possible within a reasonable time, either party may terminate the agreement and we refund anything paid for services not delivered.

14 Personal data

We use your data only to carry out your booking, invoice you and meet our legal retention obligations. How we do that and what rights you have is set out in the privacy policy. Where we process personal data of third parties on your behalf as a business service provider, for example voice recordings of speakers, the data processing agreement also applies.

15 Complaints, governing law and jurisdiction

If you are not satisfied, tell us by email to [email protected] within a reasonable time after discovering the problem. We reply within 2 working days and work with you on a solution, such as an extra revision round, a replacement session or a partial refund.

All agreements are governed by Dutch law. Disputes with business clients are submitted to the District Court of Amsterdam. As a consumer you may also go to the competent court where you live, and the mandatory protection of the law of your own country continues to apply. Our company details are on the legal notice page.

16 Changes and version

We may update these terms. A confirmed booking is always governed by the terms in force when it was confirmed. This version applies from 5 October 2026 and was last updated on 5 October 2026. The Dutch text is binding; the English translation is for information.
