Podcast recording in Amsterdam

A quiet room, a dedicated microphone for every guest and someone watching the levels while you focus on the conversation. For podcasts with up to 4 speakers, basic edit included.

Two podcast hosts talk at an oak table into microphones on boom arms, wearing headphones.

A podcast lives or dies by how clearly it can be heard. Listeners drop off faster because of room echo, a humming fridge or a guest who keeps turning away from the mic than because of a weaker topic. Recording at Vedrodev removes those distractions so the conversation gets the attention.

We record interviews, round-table discussions, narrative episodes and company podcasts. Sanne de Wit, our podcast and voice-over producer, runs the sessions: she places the microphones, keeps an eye on levels and signals when someone drifts too far from their mic. All you have to do is talk.

How it works

  1. Talk through the format

Tell us how many speakers there are, roughly how long an episode runs and whether you have an intro or theme tune. Everything is ready when you walk in.

  2. Sit down and test

Each speaker gets their own microphone and headphones. A short test round lets us match voices, distance and volume.

  3. Record the conversation

You talk, we listen. Stumble over a sentence or want to ask a question again? We mark that moment for the edit.

  4. Edit and delivery

We cut slips and long pauses, even out the volume and deliver a finished episode plus separate tracks for each speaker.

Who this session suits

A studio recording makes sense when your podcast needs to come across as professional, when several people share the table, or when you simply have no quiet room at home. Think of journalists and creators running an interview series, organisations with an internal or public podcast, teachers offering lessons as audio, and friends who have wanted to launch a talk format for ages.

Is your project mainly one voice reading a fixed script, such as an audiobook excerpt or a corporate video? Then voice-over and voice work fits better, with direction focused on the text rather than on a conversation.

The setup around the table

The podcast table seats 4 speakers. Each gets a dynamic microphone on a boom arm, a pop filter and headphones with their own volume control. Dynamic mics mainly pick up the voice directly in front of them, so a laughing co-host does not immediately bleed onto your track.

We arrange the chairs so you face each other, which makes the conversation feel more natural than everyone staring at a screen. Notes or a tablet with questions can sit on the table; we only ask that phones are on silent and that paper is not rustled right next to a microphone.

Preparing an episode

You do not need a full script, but a clear structure shortens the edit and makes the episode stronger.

  • List the topics or questions in the order you want to cover them.
  • Let guests know the subject in advance so they are not caught off guard.
  • Bring your intro, outro and any theme tune as WAV files and we drop them straight into the edit.
  • Agree on who keeps time and who introduces the guest.

Drink still water rather than fizzy drinks and wear clothes that do not rustle. Small things, but they save a lot of cutting later.

What the basic edit covers

Every episode comes with a basic edit. By that we mean:

  • Cutting slips, restarts and the moments marked during recording.
  • Shortening overly long pauses without making the conversation sound rushed.
  • Balancing speaker levels so nobody towers over the rest.
  • Light noise reduction and a consistent final loudness suited to common podcast platforms.
  • Placing the intro, outro and theme tune.

Not covered: restructuring the content, sound design with effects and ambience, or removing every single 'um'. That is available as extra work at the hourly rate.

Delivery and formats

What you receive per episode
FileFormatUse
Edited episodeMP3Upload straight to your podcast host
Edited episodeWAVArchive or further editing
Separate tracks per speakerWAVFor clips or your own edit

The edited episode arrives within 7 days through a download link. After that you have 2 rounds of revisions: a sentence that should go after all, a pause that feels slightly too short. We keep the raw recording for 6 months, which is handy if you later want to cut clips for social media.

Recording a regular series

Many podcasts come out weekly or every other week. You can record several episodes back to back in one afternoon and build up a buffer. Tell us how many episodes you want to do per session; we reserve enough time and keep the settings identical so every episode sounds the same.

For a recurring series we store mic positions and levels for each regular speaker. If the host comes back every time, the setup is ready within minutes.

Per-episode price and extra time

The fixed per-episode price covers a recording of up to 90 minutes, including setup, recording and the basic edit. If the session runs over, or you want extra editing, we charge the rate per extra hour. All prices include 21% VAT; excluding VAT an episode costs €119.83 and an extra hour €61.98.

We ask for a 30% deposit when you book. Up to 3 days ahead you can reschedule or cancel at no cost; after that we charge 50%. Organisations receive an invoice with 14-day payment terms. Read the full conditions in our terms and conditions and how we handle guest recordings in the privacy policy.

Frequently asked questions

How many people can record at once?

The table seats 4 speakers, each with their own microphone. With more people a conversation quickly becomes hard to follow.

Can we record several episodes in one day?

Yes, plenty of creators do. Each episode is then priced separately. Do plan short breaks, because energy drops noticeably after two hours of talking.

Do my guests need to sign anything?

We do not require it, but it is wise to agree with guests that the recording may be published. How we handle personal data ourselves is set out in our privacy policy.

Do you publish the podcast for us?

No, you receive the files and upload them to your podcast host yourself. That way you stay in control of your feed and your statistics.

How do I book a first episode?
